Out with the old, in with the new.

Well, I don't quite know what to say. Other than the fact that I feel HORRIBLE. I left you guys hanging. Not once did I post what happened in the playoffs last year. October 15th was my last post, it is now June 19th. I'm gonna sum up the playoffs then explain a new thing the league decided on to get a larger fan base. 1st round West Side results, 1.Peoria defeated 8.Tulsa, and 5.Milwaukee upset 4.Anchorage. East Side results, 2.Ventura CRUSHED 7.Aurora. And 3.Boise blew past 6.New Orleans.

Semi-Matchups. Peoria vs Milwaukee. Ventura vs Boise.
Results: Peoria defeated Milwaukee in a blowout
Boise slipped past Ventura in a neck and neck game for the ages.

                                            Championship
Peoria Red Raptors vs Boise Steam

And the winner was.........................................The Boise Steam.
Yet another disappointing season for the Raptors. I do give kudos to the Steam, after starting off 0-2, they won their last 16 games including the post season. Congrats to Evan Anseli for winning Finals MVP.

Regular season awards went as followed,
MVP-Jason Schlek, Ventura Megalodons
Defensive player-Wienczyslaw Wenczeslaw, Peoria Red Raptors
Offensive player-Ivan Anseli, Peoria Red Raptors
Rookie of the Year-Evan Anseli, Boise Steam
Coach of the Year- Ronald Sweet, Boise Steam

After several league meetings, the owners and managers decided to shake things up for the 2012-2013 season. To compliment the annual draft, there will be a Team Shuffle! Each team we be switched to a random city, and given a new mascot name, to keep things fresh. The Boise Steam was first, they are now the Houston Gators. Next came Ventura, they are now the Nashville Leopards. And now for the most important, my beloved Peoria Red Raptors. They are now located in NYC, and are now known as the Saber-tooth Tigers, or Sabers.

After the draft and all that jazz, the Sabers are lookin' to have a pretty solid team. Ivan Anseli decided to put his name in the Shuffle as well, he will now be known as Stephan "Big Mean" Goodfellow. Sadly, even with constant pestering, Wienczyslaw Wenczeslaw did not change his name. And I hate him for it. Joining the team this year is left forward Leon Rhimes, from the Bronx. Leon brings the speed and evasive maneuverability never-before-seen in the League so far. By all means he will be exciting to watch this season.

After the Shuffle and draft, here are the standings for the beginning of the season.

Division 1
1. Houston Gators (0-0)
2. New York Sabers (0-0)
3. Boston Clovers (0-0)
4. Nashville Leopards (0-0)

Division 2
5. Detroit Sparrows (0-0)
6. Brooklyn Mustangs (0-0)
7. Eugene Rapids (0-0)
8. Phoenix Stars (0-0)

Division 3
 9. Dublin* Brawlers (0-0)
10. Atlanta Crows (0-0)
11. Venice* Knights (0-0)
12. Las Vegas Addicts (0-0)

Division 4
13. Beijing* Ninja (0-0)
14. Dallas Bulldogs (0-0)
15. Seattle Sound (0-0)
16. Madrid* Torros (0-0)

You may have noticed, there are FOUR international teams this season. The league wants the sport to go worldwide. You may have also noticed that of the four, none are in Divisions 1 or 2. Since the game is new in those areas, the players aren't as skilled, yet.

*-International team

The season starts soon, the Raptors are now the Sabers. The Sabers have rookie of the year candidate Leon Rhimes. The season starts soon. May the odds be in everyone's favor, they're gonna need it.
